WHAT IS USGBC?
The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.

The USGBC’s Mission is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.

WHAT IS LEED?
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies animed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

By using less energy, LEED-certified buildings save money for families, businesses and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community.

WHAT IS LEED AP (Accredited Professional)?
A LEED AP is an accredited professional who has passed the USGBC LEED exam proving their knowledge and skills of the LEED certification process with a thorough understanding of the green building practices and principles in compliance with the LEED rating system.  One objective to taking the AP exam for LEED-NC (New Construction) is to become familiar with the LEED process and requirements, making Atomatic a more knowledgeable HVAC contractor for our customers to work with.
